Gratitude and Legacy: "The Kraut Guy" Lives On - Get to Work!

As you may know, the funeral mass and celebration of life for Bob Kaiser (aka “The Kraut Guy”) took place yesterday. Our family was honored and humbled by everyone who attended the mass and reception.

Family, friends, and people from the communities we are a part of showed up to surround us and shower us with love. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to you all. Thank you.

While Bob was a simple man, it is evident that he touched many more lives than those beyond his family. Words cannot express how much your presence with us yesterday meant to our family.

What could have been a time of grief turned into a time of joy. We reunited to celebrate the life of man we respected and loved. With full hearts, we are proud to say that yesterday was yet another beautiful day. It was a pleasure to connect with everyone yesterday.

Today, we close out the week with final goodbyes to family who came in from out of town. After breaking bread with them today over lunch, we will return to the farm and get to work.

This is exactly what The Kraut Guy would have wanted us to do.

We are confident in saying this on account of a dream where he told us to do exactly that.

Here are the details of the dream:

A few days before The Kraut Guy passed away, Matt had a dream. There was no specific context, environment, or location in which the dream took place. No one else was present in the dream.

In a moment of uncertainty, Matt looked at Dad and asked him:

“What do I do now?”

In the typical, matter of fact way that The Kraut Guy responded, he said only one simple thing:

“Get to work.”

And that, my friends, is what we will do. Today, we will enjoy lunch, and share more stories and memories of our beloved Kraut Guy. When we return home, we will get to work. What's the plan?

You'll find out soon enough. Stay tuned for updates on our return to the various farmers' markets we are attending. We will also be sharing some exciting news about a new retail location in Medina.

His legacy will live on as we continue to share his classic recipes in new locations. We look forward to sharing this update soon - for we'll need your help and support as we continue to grow!

We hope that you have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend.

Remember, if you find yourself hesitating or feeling overwhelmed...

…consider The Kraut Guy's final words of wisdom:

Do the next right thing.

"Get to work."

Sincerely,

The Kaiser Family
