An Update from the Homestead: A Season of Transition
Hello friends,
It’s been a while since our last post, and we wanted to share what’s been happening here at York Meadow Farm.
In our previous update—Thank You for Your Support & Updates for 2025—I opened up about the ongoing health challenges following the car accident in January, and expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from our customers, friends, and family. Your encouragement and patience have meant the world during this journey with epilepsy.
As mentioned then, we had planned to scale back Natural Ferments for the 2025 season to make space for recovery and further neurological testing. That included stepping into a part-time vendor role at the Medina Square Farmers Market to stay connected to the community while prioritizing health and healing.
Now, with the market season in full swing, it’s time for a new update:
Natural Ferments is Temporarily Closed.
After much thought and prayer, I’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close Natural Ferments.
This wasn’t an easy call, but it’s the right one. The last of our inventory sold at the final Indoor Winter Market at Boyert’s Greenhouse in March—thank you to everyone who showed up and supported us.
Stepping back allows space not just for physical recovery, but also to manage several large-scale projects on the homestead and in the market gardens—plus the day-to-day tasks my dad once handled.
Memorial Day
This past week also marked the anniversary of Dad’s passing. We lit a candle from the All Souls Day service the year he passed away, and Mom made him a cup of coffee—just the way he liked it.
I spent the day working, quietly honoring him by tending to the life we’re continuing to build here.
This Memorial Day weekend, we’ll be attending a ceremony at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery as a family. It’s a time to remember and reflect, and we look forward to honoring him and all those who served our country while taking in the powerful memorials across the grounds.
Looking ahead, there’s a chance we might make it to a few Medina Square Farmers Markets later this season, depending on how everything unfolds.
If you’d like to support what we’re doing at York Meadow Farm, we’d also like to encourage you follow Cody Grey on Facebook and Instagram and check out the Farmers Market of Medina County. We’re lucky to be part of such a vibrant local market community, with both the Medina Square and Cornerstone Chapel markets offering something special each week.

That’s the latest from us. While we’re stepping back from the spotlight this season, we remain grateful, hopeful, and hard at work behind the scenes.
Life is full, life is good—and your continued support keeps us going.
Thanks for being here.
